Sometimes it’s easier said than done. The quote, “Keep Calm and Carry On,” is recognized all around the world. If you haven’t seen it already, this Youtube video tells the amazing story behind this iconic poster.
I’ve been racking my brain as to how I could make this quote into my own piece of art, for a fraction of the cost. Here are the steps on how you can make your own, ” Keep Calm and Carry On, ” piece of art.
The supplies you will need are: white canvas (any size, I used a 24×30), scissors, tape, exacto knife, sponge roller and the paint color of your choice.
Step 1 – Print off the” Keep Calm and Carry On ” quote on a piece of 8.5 x 11 of paper. Measure the size of your canvas and get your local printer to blow up the 8.5 x 11 image to the size of your canvas. Voila, you have your template.
Step 2 – Cut out the letters and crest and tape them back into the place they were cut from. Pull away the excess paper. Use the sponge roller to go over the letters. Just a heads up, it took me 4 coats of red paint to get an even coat.
The best part, pulling off the letters and revealing the final product! Definitely an easy way to transform any space.
